DAVIDO'S BIRTHDAY DONATION...

Earlier in the week, the popular Nigerian hip-hop artiste, David Adeleke, with the stage name, Davido called out his friends on social media to start making donations so as to allow him clear his Rolls-Royce from the port.

And within 24-hours, the Fem cooner raised over 150 million. The sum continued to increase until a landmark sum of 200 million was reached. But surprisingly, the 29-year old shocked the entire country, as he decided that the donations will go to different orphanages across Nigeria after adding 50 million as his personal donation to make it 250 million.

He went on to constitute a five-member commitee, headed by Mrs. Titi Adebayo to oversee the disbursement of the funds.

Others members are; Prof Jonathan Nwose (Secretaray), Prof Yahana Joeal Asabae, Pastor (Dr) Oyalabu of Spring Time Development Foundation and Professor Uloma Unoha.

The multi-award-winning Afrobeats artiste tasked the committee with a role of compiling a list of orphanages across Nigeria and determine the number of children and their needs at each orphanage, and divide the funds accordingly. He stated that his goal is to do this fundraising every year in celebration of his birthday.

Davido turns 29 today, 21st November, 2021.

TINUBU WILL DECLARE HIS INTENTIONS BY JANUARY...

Former Lagos Governor and incumbent Works and Housing Minister, Babatunde Fashola has revealed that Nigerians will get to know if Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu wants to be President by January.

Fashola made this revelation on Friday, during a late night interview on Channel's TV current affairs programme, 'Hard copy'.

When asked if he is interested in being President, Fashola noted that he does not envy the position nor does he envy the persons that had held the position over time, he gave the impression that the seat of the president is a hot seat, thus the basis of his position on the matter.

“I saw him last week; he didn’t tell me he is running for office and to the best of my knowledge, the last statement he made about it was that people would know in January,” he said.

Narrative: In various quarters, APC National leader, Bola Tinubu has been tipped for the post of presidency come 2023. Recently, he was flown to London for medical treatment, where he spent some months before coming back to the country.

GERNOT ROHR: NFF DEBUNKS RUMOURED SACK.

On Thursday, the media was awash with the news that Gernot Rohr; the coach of the male senior football team of Nigeria, the Super Eagles, has been relieved of his duties. This was coming on the heels of the disappointing result of the fixture between Nigeria and Cape Verde in Lagos over the weekend.

However, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has debunked such rumours, this was contained in a statement released to the media by the NFF boss, Amaju Pinnik.

Pinnik noted that the NFF board is still studying the report of the technical committee, which was submitted after the match against Cape Verde on Tuesday. He further clarifies that the board has not arrived at any decision to sack Rohr but hinted that there were a number of possibilities.

He however gave the assurance that whatever decision that is eventually taken will be one that will please the generality of all Nigerians.

The Franco-german and former Coach of Burkina Faso, has been in charge of the super Eagles since 2016 and has led them to two major tournaments; the AFCON and world cup.

But considering the average performance of the squad in recent games, Nigerian football lovers and pundits are already calling for his dismissal.

Although the Super Eagles already qualified for the CAF 2022 World cup qualifier playoffs and African cup of Nations (AFCON). Nigerians seem not to be satisfied with disappointing results, like a demeaning loss to Central Africa Republic in Lagos and a shocking draw to Cape Verde, also on the home soil.

The widespread opinion is that the squad had lost focus under his leadership; as they tend to play out of sync and without a pattern. However, should the NFF decide to show Rohr the exit door now, they will have to pay him a compensation as he is yet to exhaust the terms of the contract extension he signed last year and they should also be ready to pay him his arrears.

SERGIO AGUERO MIGHT QUIT FOOTBALL BY NEXT WEEK!

Reports emerging from spain have indicated that FC Barcelona player and Manchester city Legend, Sergio Aguero might retire from football next week.

The forward is set to exit the game after 18 years at a professional level. This was attributed to recent complications that surfaced in one of his first La Liga matches at Camp Nou.

Early this November, the 33 year old suffered a cardiac arrhythmia during a 1-1 home draw to deportico alaves- a complication which has already ruled him out of action for three months.

However, Aguero had denied rumours about his retirement on his twitch stream, as he said he was waiting for a medical confirmation regarding that.

But today, reports coming from journalist Gerard Romero confirms that Aguero will in fact retire from the game, as the decision has been taken and an official announcement could come next week via a press conference.

It is really saddening that this was coming ahead of Xavi's first game at Barcelona, against derby rivals, Espanyol.

OLE IS FINALLY OUT!

Manchester united FC has finally made the decision to relieve Ole Gunner Solskjaer of his duty, as manager of the club.

This decision was reached after the board met for some hours. Ole's sack became necessary because the team had consistently suffered a poor run of results and there have been several calls to change the coach.

However, the final straw came yesterday after a disappointing 4-1 loss to bottom-table club, Watford United.

Michael Carrick will be in charge in the interim until a substantive manager is appointed.

CHRISTOSCOPE: LOOKING FOR THE BIG PICTURE

Trivia What is a Christoscope? In Faithberg's lexicon, a Christoscope is a precision instrument which is a repository of data from hallowed antiquity to timeless eternity. It incorporates the elements of optics (a spiral lens for fine-tuning), spirituality (Urim and Thummim) and scriptural big data (The holy bible). It is useful for discovery and predictive studies.  The book of Hebrews started with a very profound reality that is of high import to our faith. In there, we got a peep into the lives of the saints of old, as it relates to how God speaks to them in bits and pieces, leaving them to figure it all out like pieces of a puzzle. But what seemed like a puzzle to them has now been made plain to us. (Hebrews.1:1-2)   God was meticulous in revealing his will to humanity piece by piece, so that no one will miss out irrespective of whatever side of the covenant he or she falls, whether old or new. Hebrews 11:40 succinctly articulated this. It all started in the garden of Eden...

THE RENT VEIL: A Sermon review

The Rent Veil, a sermon delivered by Charles Spurgeon provides a deep theological exploration of the tearing of the veil in the temple at the moment of Christ’s death (Matthew 27:51). Spurgeon explains that this event holds profound meaning for Christianity, signifying the removal of the separation between God and humanity, ushering in a new era of accessibility to God through Christ. The sermon dives into the Old Testament practice of temple worship, where a thick veil separated the Holy of Holies—God’s earthly dwelling place—from the rest of the temple, allowing only the high priest to enter once a year. The tearing of the veil, according to Spurgeon, marks the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies and the end of the sacrificial system. Spurgeon points out that the death of Jesus is a marvel of time and eternity. Using the imagery of Aaron's rod turned serpent which swallowed the magicians', he described this miracle as one which outshines every other power mira...

TWO SIDES OF AN ART!

Creativity is one of the hallmarks of God’s nature, and being made in His image, humans too have been endowed with the ability to create. Throughout Scripture, we see examples of how God uses human creativity to achieve His purposes. Yet, like any gift, creativity can be both a blessing and a stumbling block, depending on how it is deployed. One of the clearest illustrations of this dual nature is the story of the Nehushtan—a bronze serpent that began as a symbol of salvation but later became an object of idolatry. In the book of Exodus, we encounter two men, Bezaleel and Oholiab, whom God called and empowered for a specific purpose: to design and craft the articles of the Tabernacle (Exodus 31:1-6). These men were not only skilled artisans but were filled with the Spirit of God, giving them the wisdom, understanding, and knowledge needed to create items that reflected the divine nature. The Tabernacle, with its intricate designs and sacred objects, was a space where God’s ...
